Luna was born in October 2018. My husband and I adopted her when she was about one year old. We don't think she was physically abused, however she was most likely neglected. When we brought her home she craved attention, scarfed her food down faster than I had ever seen a dog eat food before, was underweight, reactive to other dogs, scared of all noises, and not confident in herself. I could not even leave the house without her trying to break out of her crate; it was devastating as I felt so helpless to comfort her the appropriate way. I worked with her for months, watching videos, learning multiple training methods and how to train her properly. After about six months to a year of consistent work she became a whole new dog. She has become the sweetest, calmest, most trustworthy dog and so much more that cannot be put into words! After seeing her progress, I gained confidence in myself, and I realized how much bringing her along with us has changed her temperament. She was not socialized properly before and it showed. She needed to learn being around other dogs, people, crowds and loud noises is all okay. Now, we bring her everywhere with us and she is so well behaved and just happy to be involved. The inspiration for this business idea is centered around Luna. Knowing we could make Luna live her best life is something that drives us, and we hope it inspires others to join the Paw Impression family because pets are family!
I cannot even imagine what percentage of people leave their pets at home when they go out on an adventure or even just a night out in town. My pet is part of my family and I want to have her by my side. She loves nature and it makes me smile when I see how much she loves life. I hope to bring that joy to you by capturing all the moments I have experienced while traveling with Luna. Our hope is that people see all the things you can do with your pet and perhaps influence others to start taking their pets with them more while traveling. We are well aware that Luna has a very good life and is a very lucky girl. Not all animals have it as easy; some don't have homes or families. We want to make a difference and because of that we will donate a portion of every single item bought to the animal shelter Dorchester Paws. Animals should never have to go without food or a roof over their head. Please be part of the change; make sure to bring your pet with you and capture the moment by leaving Paw Impressions all over the world.
At Paw Impressions, our mission is to influence peoples’ views of what role their pet plays in their own family. Through consistent training, exposure out in the world and by using our products you are spreading awareness, helping animals in need, and strengthening the bond between human and animal.
